As part of my routine, before my open house, Jackie and I went out to rejoin the land of the living by visiting the Hillcrest Farmers’ Market. I didn’t have his water bowl, so I asked a woman who was leaving if I could use her to-go container that she had finished with. She looked horrified, but I thought to myself, I just saw Jackie lick pee off a tree—I think he’ll survive. To make amends, I threw in a few pieces of cheesecake. HAHA!
