The San Diego market is creating more opportunities for buyers. Inventory has increased, homes are taking longer to sell (about 43 days on average), and nearly half of all homes are selling below the original asking price—giving buyers greater negotiating power. While 30-year fixed mortgage rates are averaging around 6.5%, many sellers are offering credits and concessions to help reduce buyers’ costs. With the right strategy and strong negotiation, now is an excellent time to secure a great home at favorable terms.
